Esports Begins at York County Community College

The inaugural Esports Season begins!

WELLS, ME – Overwatch, a first-person hero shooter by Blizzard Entertainment, will be the first game that will offered as a competitive collegiate team at York County Community College. This announcement comes as YCCC begins its inaugural esports season. This follows the schools leap into colligate athletics with their golf, cross country, track & field, baseball, and softball offerings. 

Starting in the spring semester, the student-athletes will be competing in the National Association of Colligate Esports (NACE, https://nacesports.org/) Challenger League. With 170+ competitors, the competition is sure to be a fun and challenging experience. The Hawks season starts on the 31st of January 2022. Games will be hosted on Monday, at 8 pm ET (EST) vs. Brock University.

The Hawks have six student-athletes on their Overwatch roster including: Coley Hatt, Benjamin Perry, Annika Zeta Rasa, Alyssa Sansoucy, James Crouch, and Sean Swanick.
