Amy Stults - YSCC Women's Cross Country Champion
Yankee Small College Conference Championship
Sophomore standout, Amy Stults, competed in the Yankee Small College Conference Cross Country Championship on Saturday, November 4th at Hampshire College. She competed amongst the conference’s top runners and went on to win the event with a time of 26:44.42, a full 20 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
Amy, an avid runner, joined the YCCC Cross Country team last season as a freshman in the Nursing program. Throughout the season she continually set personal best times and challenged herself both on the course and in the classroom. In 2022, Amy finished with a 5th place finish in the YSCC Cross Country Championships, garnering a place on the YSCC All-Tournament Team. She had her sights set on the 2023 season.
This season Amy picked up where she left off, finishing in the top 10 in all four regular season meets. Three of those meets were against predominately NCAA Division III runners. Amy finished 4th at the Ron Ouelette Invitational hosted by UNE, 6th at the Runnin’ Monk Invitational hosted by St. Joseph’s College and 3rd at the Thomas College Invitational. In all three races, the only athletes to finish ahead of her were Division III runners.
Her coach, Andy Clement shared "I could not be prouder to be Amy's coach. She works so hard every day and sets such a good example for the rest of our team and for her kids. I'm so happy that all of her hard work got rewarded to become YCCC's first ever YSCC Cross Country Champion, which I always knew she could do."
With the first-place finish in the YSCC XC Championship Amy was named to the All-Tournament Team as well as the 2023 YSCC Cross Country Champion.
Congratulations Amy!
