YSCC Female Cross-County Runner of the Week
Amy Stults-Stanek was selected as the first Yankee Small College Conference Runner for 2023.
The YCCC Hawks women’s cross country team competed in the Ron Ouelette Invitational hosted by NCAA Division III, University of New England, on September 9th. On an unseasonably hot and humid day, Amy Stults-Stanek picked up where she left off last season.
In the first 5K of the season against a field of NCAA Division III institutions, Amy finished 4th among 25 runners with a time of 22.52.7; 10 seconds off her personal best. Andy Clement commented, “Amy’s time and the way she pushed at the end to move from 5th to 4th place bodes well for the season”.
In addition to cross-country, Amy has picked up her golf clubs, competing as a member of YCCC co-ed golf team. Amy is a second-year nursing student who has successfully navigated academics, athletics, and family life. Congratulations, Amy!
