Introducing Aiden Deshaies: YCCC's New Esports Coach
We're thrilled to welcome Aiden Deshaies as the new Head Coach of our Esports program at York County Community College. Aiden comes to us from Southern New Hampshire and brings with him a deep passion for gaming and a real commitment to building inclusive, student-centered esports experiences.
His journey in esports started back in high school when he founded his first esports club—a spark that’s grown into a career built around developing competitive teams and strong campus communities. That spark, though, really started even earlier with the release of Halo 2, which first pulled him into the world of gaming.
Aiden earned his Bachelor's degree in Esports & Gaming Management from the University of New Haven, along with a minor in Psychology, giving him both the technical know-how and the leadership insight to guide student-athletes on and off the screen.
What really stood out to us is Aiden’s holistic approach to coaching. He’s not just about wins and losses—though we know those will come. He’s focused on mentoring students, developing life skills through competition, and building something sustainable and impactful here at YCCC. Whether it’s strategic planning, team coordination, or fostering a competitive yet supportive culture, Aiden brings the full package.
We're excited for what’s ahead and confident that under Aiden’s leadership, our esports program will not only grow—but thrive.
