WELLS, ME— Saturday will be a ground breaking day in the history books for York County Community College. The Hawks golf team will compete in the school’s first intercollegiate competition at Louden Country Club in New Hampshire.
The Hawks will compete against Yankee Small College Conference opponents NHTI, Southern Maine Community College, Great Bay Community College, and the University of Maine at Augusta.
Coach Gagnon will have two seasoned golfers competing for York County and looks to start off this eight match season with a strong showing.
“Taking part in the first ever golf tourney for YCCC is both historic and special,” noted Head Coach, Guy Gagnon. “ Helping to build a program and planting the seeds for its future success is very exciting! The student-athletes we have representing York County will hopefully enjoy the moment and cherish the opportunity to compete. My hope is to successfully guide them through this event and throughout our inaugural season. I can’t wait to get going!”
The Hawks will tee off at 1:00p.m. on Saturday at Louden Country Club.
