Hawks Have A Strong Showing at UMaine
ORONO, ME—The Hawks had a strong showing at their first ever indoor track and field meet against strong NCAA Division I & Division III competition at UMaine’s Invitational #2. For each of the Hawks, it was their first collegiate meet and YCCC’s inaugural season.
The UMaine Invitational #2 brought together UMaine, Thomas College, University of Maine at Farmington, Colby, Bentley, University of Maine at Fort Kent, and York County Community College.
Freshman Treshaun Brown (Kittery, ME) lead the Hawks with (2) second place finished; one in the long jump (6.56m) and another in the triple jump (12.89m). Brown also ran a 7.62 in the 60 meters sprint. Sophomore Conner DeCourt (Berwick, ME) had standout performances in the 400 meters finishing 7th (54.66), and also in the 60 meters with a time of 7.75.
Freshman Coley Hatt (Biddeford, ME) made his third shot put of the day his best, measuring at 7.54m. Freshman Grady Seaward (Kennebunk, ME) made his college debut running an 8.07 in the 60 meters, followed by a 27.59 in the 200 meters. Freshman Brendan Mather (York, ME) ran the mile in 5:23.60. While Freshman Thomas Saiauski (Kittery, ME) ran an 8.46 in the 60 meters and a 27.53 in the 200 meters.
On the women’s side, Sophomore Maggie Dallaire (Biddeford, ME) finished the 200 in 37.19 and also threw the shot put 6.53m. Sophomore Libby Papciak (North Berwick, ME) ran the 800 in 3:37.39.
