Brown & DeCourt Lead Hawks
(Fitchburg, MA) The Hawks had their first outdoor meet for the spring this past Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Fitchburg State University’s Track and Field Facility.
(Fitchburg, MA) The Hawks had their first outdoor meet for the spring this past Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Fitchburg State University's Track and Field Facility.
This meet brought together the University of Southern Maine, Fitchburg State University, St. Joseph's College of Maine, Franklin Pierce University, Keene State University, Hudson Valley Community College, Northeastern University (Northeastern Club Running), Worcester State University, Boston University, Northern Essex Community College, UMaine-Presque Isle, Framingham State University, and Vermont Technical College.
The Jim Sheehan Invitational was a start for the Hawks inaugural outdoor season. Freshman Treshaun Brown (Kittery, ME) had a standout performance on the 100 meters (4th overall, 11.91), Long jump (3rd overall, 21' 2.75"), and triple jump (5th overall, 39' 5.25"). Brown was also a part of York County's 4x100 team which finished in third place overall. This stacked 4X100 team also included sophomore Conner DeCourt (Berwick, ME), freshman Grady Seaward (Kennebunk, ME), and freshman Thomas Saiauski (Kittery, ME)
Connor DeCourt also ran a 53.88 in the 400 Meters, placing 4th overall. Brendan Mather (York, ME) had a solid performance, running a 4:53.44 in the 1500 meter, and 27.30 in the 200, with teammates Saiausuki and Seaward sprinting a 27.48 and a 26.64 respectively. Seaward and Saiauski also had a strong showings in the 100m debuts finishing with a times of 12.79 and 13.33.
Coley Hatt (Biddeford, ME) held down the throwing events for the Hawks with a strong showing throwing the shot put at 6.73 M and the Discus throw at 19.37 M.
On the women's side of the Jim Sheehan Invitational, sophomore Maggie Dallaire (Biddeford, ME) and sophomore Libby Papciak (North Berwick, ME) were solid competitors in the 800 run posting 3:08.60 and 3:24.21, respectively.
